WHO CAN APPLY?
All Indian nationals resident in Taiwan with valid ARC (Alien Registration Certificate)
(Indian nationals in Taiwan without valid ARC can apply only in case of emergencies)
ISSUE OF NEW PASSPORT
A passport is issued for a period of 10 years. The application for a new passport has to be submitted in the prescribed form anytime within one year of the expiry of the existing passport.The new passport will be issued on receipt of clearance from the concerned passport issuing authorities.
Following documents/papers are required to be submitted:
- Application Form
- Original passport, current passport and additional booklets, if any, issued subsequently (In original plus one photocopy each)
- Copy of Taiwan ID Card
- Four latest passport sized photographs. One photograph to be pasted on the application form and signed across
- Prescribed fee (See Table below for details)
Note: The applicant is required to come in person while applying for renewal of passport
ISSUE OF NEW PASSPORT FOR CHILDREN/INFANTS
Following documents are required for issue of a fresh passport for newborn children:
- Application Form
- Copies of parents' Taiwan ID card
- Marriage certificate of parents (original plus 1 copy)
- Child's birth certificate (original plus 1 copy)
- Four Color photographs of the child
- Passports of both parents (Original with one set of photocopies)
- Prescribed fee
Note:
*Please bring the child while applying for the passport
*The validity of passport for infants is five years
*It is necessary to register a child born of Indian parents outside India with the nearest Indian Mission
*Either of the parents can sign the application and give his/her own specimen signature in case of minor children/infants
*Registration of birth is required to be done before the child attains the age of one year
ISSUE OF DUPLICATE PASSPORT IN LIEU OF LOST/DAMAGED PASSPORT
Following document/papers are required for issue of duplicate passport:
- Police report regarding the loss of passport
- Photocopy of the lost passport, if available. If photocopy is not available, number, date of issue and place of issue of the lost passport should be furnished
- 8 photographs. One photograph to be pasted on the application form and signed across
- Application Form
- Prescribed fee
Note: Duplicate passport is issued only on receipt of confirmation/clearance from the issuing authority of the lost passport
CHANGE OF NAME AFTER MARRIAGE
Following documents/papers are required:
- Application form
- Current passports of both husband and wife with one photocopy each
- Marriage certificate (In Original plus one copy)
- Sworn affidavit to be signed by the wife
- Prescribed Fee
ENDORSEMENT ON PASSPORT (For ECNR, Change of Address, Name of Spouse)
Following documents/papers are required:
- Current passport(s)
- Application Form
- One photograph to be affixed on the application and signed across
- Proof in support of claim to the categories mentioned above
- Copy of Taiwan ID card
- Prescribed Fee
POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

Note: In case of issue of Death Certificate, a copy of the Death Certificate issued by local authorities is required

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Your passport is a valuable document. It should always be either in your own custody or in the custody of a person duly authorized by you. If lost or destroyed, the fact and circumstances should be immediately reported to the nearest Indian Mission and to the local police.
- It is an offence under the Passport Act, 1967 to give false information in the application. Passport facilities can be denied on grounds of suppression of factual information, submission of false particulars, willful damage of passport and for making unauthorized changes in the passport.
- A passport should not be sent out of any country by post.
- For travel abroad, minimum validity of the passport should be 6 months.
- While collecting passports/documents, applicants are requested to satisfy themselves that the service applied for has been rendered correctly.
