Fee for conversion of PIO into OCI cards
The deadline for conversion of PIO cards into OCI cards on gratis basis was December 31, 2017. Any request for conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards will now attract a fee of NTD 9200.
As per ICAO’s rules (with respect to travel with machine readable travel documents) which will come into effect from October/November 2018, PIO card holders who are travelling to India on handwritten PIO cards will be refused entry at the Indian immigration counters and sent back
All PIO card holders are, therefore, advised to get their handwritten PIO cards converted into machine readable OCI cards at the earliest.
